Position Summary:

Seeking a temporary Network Manager/Director-level professional to serve as the Supervisor of Network Infrastructure and Operations. This interim leadership role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the college's network infrastructure team, ensuring the availability, performance, and security of all network services.
As a temporary head of network operations, this position plays a critical leadership role, supervising a skilled technical team and managing complex infrastructure across multiple campuses.

Key Responsibilities:
· Provide direct supervision to the following staff:
o Senior Network Engineer (1)
o Network Engineers (2)
o Network Technicians (2)
o Professional Expert (1)
· Lead regular team and staffing meetings to maintain communication and alignment on goals
· Oversee and coordinate ticket management, project execution, and task assignments
· Monitor workload, priorities, and escalations for operational and project-based efforts
· Act as the escalation point for technical concerns, decisions, and barriers
· Provide weekly updates to the Dean of IT (Katherine Stratton) and key leadership (Brian) on team activity, recommendations, and risks
· Support the planning and execution of infrastructure upgrades, system improvements, and security initiatives
· Ensure network documentation, procedures, and standards are well-maintained and accessible

Supervised Technology Areas:
· Network Infrastructure:
o Campus fiber infrastructure and WAN dark fiber interconnects
o 10Gb ISP fiber connections (TVC and SJC campuses)
o Cisco-based infrastructure (core, top-of-rack, and edge switches)
o Wireless network systems
o Network and web application firewalls
o Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) networks and DHCP
o POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) lines
· Environmental and IoT Technologies:
o UPS systems and environmental monitoring tools
o IoT device connectivity and integration

Preferred Qualifications:
· Proven leadership experience in a Network Manager or Director-level role
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
· Strong knowledge of enterprise-level Cisco network systems and infrastructure design
· Excellent communication and team leadership skills
· Experience in hybrid work environments and distributed teams


Pay Range - 70-85/hr
