Position: CMM Technician (Metrology)

This role needs to hire 4 resource, with the option to convert f/t down the road, must be willing to travel 40% and work 50-60 hours OT per week. These Technicians are supporting highly skilled positions, dealing with metrology and dimensional data gathering, measuring of equipment using CAD, scanning and point and feature measuring.

Daily Responsibilities:
** Run and operate a CMM, understands alignments and 3D specialist alignments to features etc.
** Work with tooling, measuring of equipment and sheet metal components parts sub assemblies
** Dealing with 3 dimensional metrology work and data gathering and providing feedback and counter measures.
** Able to operate, setup and use a portable CMM, using any of these hardware (Vector Arm, FARO, Creaform, Leica), understand the metrology.
• Checking body welding tooling and part accuracy using Vectorarm, Perceptron, & FARO portable CMM equipment.
• Gather part information from Digital Engineering systems.
• Checking part quality using hand tools and quality checking fixtures.
• Support Sheet metal Sub-assy. and Body build trials and activities during pre-production events.
• Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, parts and part fitting.
• Analyze part and sub-assembly data, and provide feedback to project leader(s).

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
** 2+ year of experience with Automotive or Aerospace Quality Metrology experience, heat and metal, Q&A
** Experience dealing with 3 dimensional metrology work and data gathering and providing feedback and counter measures.
** Able to operate, setup and use a portable CMM, using any of these hardware (Vector Arm, FARO, Creaform, Leica), understand the metrology. (Not looking for a machine operator)
** Capable of using CMM equipment, laser scanners, laser trackers, using Creaform and Leica
** Experience using 3D comparison software, such as PolyWorks software, Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM), PC-Dimus
** Able to run and operate a CMM, understands alignments and 3D specialist alignments to features etc.
** Has worked with tooling, measuring of equipment and sheet metal components parts sub assemblies
** Strong mechanical ability, using small hand tools for adjusting modifications
** Knowledge of hand tools is required
** Strong computer skills, using Excel, Word and PowerPoint
** Able to create reports and maintain schedules
** Able to work weekends and holidays and shift and over-time
** Able to handle medium to heavy physical work, to set up CMM equipment
** Must have comfortable traveling 40% of the time and working overtime, between 50-60 hours a week.
• 5+ years Automotive Quality experience.
• Has strong knowledge of body structure and experience working with portable CMM equipment (Vectorarm, Perceptron, & FARO)
• Capable of using Vectorarm, FARO, scanners, laser tracker or similar portable CMM equipment.
• Able to create and maintain schedules.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, off shifts, and overtime.
• Proficient in using Microsoft systems: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Desired:
• Experience using  3D modelling software is plus
