Position: Desktop Support/Technician
JOB REF#: 23817

Location: Marysville, OH 43040 (on-site only)
Rate: Open, depends on exp level (W2)

SHIFT: 6:30 am to 3pm Eastern

**This role is 100% onsite, you must be local or willing to relocate at your own expense**

Calance is a 1st tier vendor with over 25+ consultants working for this global client. We offer full benefits to our W2 consultants (Medical/Dental/Visio) as these projects are long-term and on-going.

Daily Tasks Performed:
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Verify the integrity of accessories and clean the equipment.
• Configure equipment to customer specifications.
• Install RAM, hard drives, video cards, CD-ROM's and other peripherals.
• Keep the tracking and inventory databases up to date.
• Set, configure, and troubleshoot PC/laptop and printers in a LAN environment.
• Analyze, test and evaluate new products.
• Maintain library of current BIOS, drivers and patches for supported equipment.
• Support remote access for laptop users and maintain call tracking and inventory databases.
• Work with the group to plan, design and implement network additions and modifications in the plants
• Perform yearly lease replacements of Cisco network equipment.
• Proactively monitor network devices using monitoring tools (SolarWinds NPM, Cisco Prime, NetScout Optiview, Nagios etc)
• Perform hardware adds / moves / changes, cabling, network equipment reorgs, etc..
• Perform monthly network audits and cabinet PMs
• Work overtime, adjusted shifts and weekends as required. On call support on a secondary emergency basis

Other responsibilities will include:
• Network problem detection, analysis and resolution for site environment:
• Routed/switched networks with WAN connections
• Wireless network infrastructure
• Physical wiring installation and troubleshooting
• Coordinate wiring contractors to install and demo out fiber and copper wiring and network closet wiring required for plant projects or could be asked to work on activities at MAP, ELP or AEP.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: (Resume must reflect this experience)
• 3+ years of experience as a Computer Technician, providing Desktop Support and Networking Applications.
• Basic ability to use personal computer and software applications.
• Basic knowledge of application, connectivity, hardware, peripheral including printers and scanners, networking monitoring tools, and TCP/IP protocol.
• Basic knowledge of new technology in the Information Technology field.
• Basic knowledge in a variety of PC software programs, remote tools.
• Basic knowledge in the areas of SQL, WAN/LAN Telecommunications (T1s, Modems, Hubs, Routers, Frame Relay) and AS/400.
• Basic knowledge of Security Administration procedures.
• Basic knowledge of interfaces.
• Basic knowledge of MIS environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Education: BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience.

DESIRED:
• Willingness to work toward Network Certification (Network A+, CCNA, CCNP, CWNA)
• Basic network understanding
• Network installation experience
