Enterprise Applications Specilaist

As an Enterprise Applications Specialist – Platform, Events, and Trials will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and supporting all networking, software, and hardware for remote locations used at business meetings, client events, war rooms, and court locations. These remote locations allow attorneys and staff to seamlessly access firm resources while working offsite. Your duties and responsibilities will include these and other critical functions:

Project Management
Assisting the team in planning the logistics for upcoming offsite meetings, trials, or events
Self-managing time and priorities while offsite supporting remote locations
Working with and managing third-party vendors at offsite locations

Hardware
Expertise with installing, configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting desktop/notebook and monitor hardware
Proficient with installing, configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting desktop printer hardware, ports, drivers, and settings for local and networked printers
Proficient with installing, configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting audio\visual hardware such as projectors, sound equipment, cabling, and connectors

Networking
Proficient knowledge of installing, configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting network routers, switches, wireless hardware, and local/WAN network connections
Proficient knowledge of TCP\IP and other modern network protocols
Proficient knowledge of configuring and supporting various file sharing technologies (Windows SMB, FTP, Cloud)

Software
Experience supporting Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems
Experience supporting Microsoft Office
Troubleshooting software problems of practice office attorneys and paralegals as they relate to firm-wide, departmentally driven technology projects
Researching and evaluating hardware and software on the market applicable to remote computing and to the legal profession; making recommendations to the firm regarding new products

Other
Traveling to remote locations is required for up to 1-3 weeks at a time; over the year, travel could range from 25-50% depending on number of offsite events each a year; some travel could come up last minute.
Lifting up to 50 lbs of computer equipment on a semi-frequent basis
Participating in the development, testing, documentation, and maintenance of default system configurations for desktop computers, notebook computers, and remote access systems used firmwide
Creating, editing, and customizing documentation or training materials for processes and\or applications
While supporting remote locations, there can often be non-technology related responsibilities shared among the support team, such as assisting in coordinating meals, transportation, etc. for the legal professionals
Keeping abreast of new technologies; reviewing appropriate periodicals and journals; working with Practice Support staff to assess training and development needs
Assisting the Enterprise Applications on various projects or issues when needed
Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers, even in high pressure situations

As a Specialist, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Specialist must have knowledge and proficiency in a wide variety of software programs, including the latest versions of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Windows Server, and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook). Knowledge and proficiency of various remote communication methodologies is required, including Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Remote Desktop Services (RDS), Multifactor (MFA) authentication technology, and VPN.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred. A minimum of two (2) years of experience working directly with legal professionals, preferably in trial and war room situations is desired. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a PC hardware and software support role is desired. A minimum of two (2) years of related experience working with desktop computers, notebook computers, Remote Desktop Services (RDS), and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) is preferred. The Specialist is expected to travel to remote locations for up to 1-3 weeks at a time. Over the year, travel could range from 25-50% and could come up last minute. The Specialist will be expected to lifting up to 50 lbs of computer equipment on a semi-frequent basis.
